The following maps were made from data taken simultaneously on a Mindset 24 and a Discovery 24. In order to get them to match, it was necessary to reduce the frequency response of the Discovery 24, by turning on both the 60 Hz and the 50 Hz filters. The Mindset has a high frequency cutoff of 34 Hz, while the Discovery has a high frequency cutoff of 52 Hz. If the goal is to make them match, then the Discovery should have both the 60 Hz and the 50 Hz filters turned on.
With the exception of the higher response of the Discovery in Beta and High Beta, the maps are identical. It is our opinion that the Discovery map is the more accurate, since the frequency response of the Discovery is more even across the entire passband, and NeuroGuide is better able to see the beta activity in Discovery.
The second set was done with the filters redesigned to better match the Mindset 1.5 – 34 Hz response. The raw EEG as well as the maps are identical, except for slightly more delta (about 50% more) detected with the Discovery amplifiers, which is expected. The attached pdf file provides details of raw waveforms and maps of all metrics including coherence, phase, and asymmetry.
