The LORETA Source Correlation Normative Database in NeuroGuide Deluxe provides a detailed analysis of brain activity by calculating the Pearson Product Correlation Coefficient (ranging from -1 to +1) between a selected 3-dimensional Region of Interest (ROI) and the remaining 2,394 LORETA gray matter pixels. This correlation is computed over the time span of the selected EEG recording and is displayed in the LORETA Viewer.
The ROI can be specified by an anatomical name or a Brodmann area, allowing for precise localization within the brain. The average current sources within the Region of Interest (ROI) play a crucial role in calculating the correlation coefficients. It reveals the intricate relationships between different areas of the brain. To maintain clarity in your analysis, the LORETA Viewer automatically sets the correlation of the ROI to itself at zero. This thoughtful design allows you to focus on the meaningful connections that matter most, making it easier to interpret the results and uncover fascinating insights about brain function.
This feature enables in-depth exploration of neural connectivity and relationships across different brain regions. It offers valuable insights for both clinical and research applications.
